This would be one of the first of MANY Carpenters compilations albums to be released over the following decades. Richard didn't start the whole remixing process until 1985. Most of the songs on this record are original album cuts.
It was produced by A&M Records, but distributed by Silver Eagle Records. Richard was involved in the production of this album and it was sold through a television commercial.
I remember watching the commercial and seeing the videos that accompanied the songs. I had not seen them before. I didn't have checkbook at that point, so my mom wrote the check so that I could order the album. I couldn't wait to get it in the mail. When it came I was really excited, but was disappointed as the commercial made it look like there would be a jacket for each album, not both records in one jacket.
