This first holiday single, was released on November 20, 1970.  There was no holiday album to follow.  This song didn't appear on an album until 1978's Christmas Portrait, and at that time the lead vocal was re-recorded.  This original version is different that the version on the album.  You can only hear this original version on the 7" vinyl and on the two compilations:  From the Top and The Essential Collection.

Each year you can still hear this song (both the original and the album version) on the radio during the holiday season.  In checking the Billboard Holiday chart, in 2017 it was #57.
