I Won't Last a Day Without You /

One Love

Nearly two years after A Song for You was released, the 6th single from the album was released.  "I Won't Last a Day Without You" was released on March 25, 1974 and by April 13 it peaked at #11 on the Billboard Chart.  The week it peaked, Ray Stevens topped the chart with "The Streak".  It did reach #1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.  The b-side was "One Love", from the album Carpenters.

The song originally didn't have a "bridge".  Richard contacted Paul Williams and had the bridge written for their recording.
