I Need to Be in Love /
Sandy
In an era that would be defined by disco, the first single released from the newest Carpenters album would be "I Need to Be in Love". Known as one of Karen's favorites, it is slow, light and the background voices are that of the OK Chorale.
Released on May 21, 1976 it would peak on the Billboard Hot 100 chart at number 25. The number 1 song was "Kiss and Say Goodbye" by the Manhattans.
I purchased this single on eBay a few years ago. The "b" side, "Sandy" is from the same album.
