I don't know very much about this strange release.  It was released in 1978 in England, on the Music for Pleasure label.  It is essentially their original "Ticket to Ride" album, with the "Invocation" and "Benediction" removed and replaced with "Close to You" and "We've Only Just Begun".  Music for Pleasure is a budget label in the U.K.

I purchased my copy on eBay a few years back.  I remember, once when I was younger, seeing a "pink" Carpenters album at our local Gibson's store.  I didn't have any money to buy it and later forgot about it.  I think now that it was probably this album.
