On January 20, 1978, "Sweet, Sweet, Smile" was released.  It only peaked at #44 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart, but reached #7 on the US Adult Contemporary charts and reached #8 on the Billboard Country chart.  It was their only single to ever chart in the country genre.

It shows up on many of the compilations and is a really different song for the Carpenters.  I do enjoy listening to it and really like the "edginess" of Karen's vocals on this song.
