Time is the first solo album by Richard. Dionne Warwick, Dusty Springfield and Scott Grimes were guests soloist on the album. The song "When Time Was All We Had" is dedicated to Richard's sister, Karen. It was later included on the 3-CD compilation The Ultimate Collection.  Herb Alpert played flugal horn on this selection.

He began recording in 1985 and the album was released in 1987.  One single, "Something in Your Eyes" received some radio play, but overall the album was not a success.
