Ray Coleman wrote the first approved biography of the Carpenters.  It told stories that no one had heard before and the book had several photos that had not been seen by most people. 

 

When released, this book almost became the "bible" of Carpenters information.  Through the years, it came out that Richard approved everything that was in the book - meaning that the full story of each event might not have been told.  To get the full story, it is good to read this book and also "Little Girl Blue".
